Question
How do you tell the differance between a U.S. Scott 70 and a U.S. Scott 78?  Thank you.

Answer
By the color, just as the catalog says. But I can't "teach" color in words. It's best to have examples. To me, #70 is more "violet" than "lilac" even though Scott does not say that exactly. This is about the best I can do. You can try going on websites that have examples of all the colors, such as The Philatelic Foundation's database.  Good luck.
