Question
6 cent airmail
6 cent airmail
Dear Bill

do you have scott catalog # for tghis airmail.

It has several versions.

Can you help me identify

Thank you sir

Answer
Shawn,

The key to these is the width of the '6' at its widest point, measured in millimeters. The envelopes in your picture are Scott Type U2 and are one of these catalog numbers:

6 1/2 mm wide is UC3

6 mm wide is UC4

5 1/2 mm wide is UC5.

Sorry, I have no easy way to determine the width of the '6' from the scans.
