Stamps (Philately)/6 cent Eisenhower stamps misalligned
I have 8 unused Eisenhower 6 cent stamps that were miscut. 4 of the stamps have Eisenhower USA on both the top and bottom and the connected 4 have that wording cut in half. There is no perforation on top or bottom of the 8 stamps so I think they are from a booklet. Are they worth anything? Thank you for your time
Thanks for the question.
Linda, you are exactly right, what you have is a miscut booklet pane Scott Cat# 1393a (for a normal booklet pane). Minor errors such as this are not listed in the Scott Catalog, or any other catalog, because there are just to many varieties to list. This might be of interest to collectors of EFO's (Errors, freaks & oddities, or some booklet pane collectors. All that being said, errors such as this, are really not that uncommon. Because yours is a fairly minor miscut, and it is also missing the tab (a small piece of selvage that the pane was attached to so it could be stapled in the booklet), I would give a retail value of around $5 to the right buyer. Sorry I wish I had better news.
Thanks again for the question,
