Question
QUESTION: I have 3 $3.00dollar (W.Forward), 1 $2.00dollar(T.Ewing), 1 $5.00dollar(G.M. Bibb) 1947 Documentary IRS stamps. What were they used for an how much would they be worth today?

ANSWER: Kathleen,

There are several different types and you also didn't say if they are in used or unused condition and if unused, if they have original gum, so please post a scan if you can.  If you can't, then I am unable to identify them.

QUESTION: oh sorry, they are used, no gum left on back, all are red print, with series 1947 stamped on them in black ink over heads of men.

Answer
Kathleen,

There are three different prices listed in the Scott catalog for each of them depending on if they have a cut cancel, a handstamp cancel or perforated initials. Once you can tell me what type of cancel each has, I can give you specific/exact prices.
