Question
First day issue envelope
First day issue envelo
I have a small collection (1966-1975) of first day of issue envelopes with cachets that are not addressed. Are these of any value? If they are, how would I try to sell them? I am not a collector.

Answer
Shirley,

They do have value.  Most First Day Covers (FDCs) in the date range you specified have a catalog (retail) value of $1 apiece, with some select issues valued up to about $4.  The market for FDCs has been soft over the last decade or so.  I see most collections of such material sell in the range of 10% of catalog value.

A good place to sell your holdings would be ebay.com.  There is a category specific to US FDCs.  Take plenty of pictures like the example you provided and describe the collection as detailed as you can.

Good luck!
