Question
I have and 8 cent santa stamp that has 3 bugles instead of one and seems to be double or triple printed.  Is there any value to this stamp other than 8 cents?m

Answer
Hi Ann,
Ann, it sounds like what you have is a color shift on the Santa stamp issued on Nov 9, 1972. The Normal stamp is listed in the Scott Catalog as Cat# 1472, they do not list what I like to call minor errors such as this. Although it may appear as double or triple printed, it is actually that some of the colors are misregistered to the others (shifted).
Unfortunately this issue is fairly well known for this by most EFO collectors (Errors, freaks and oddities), so minor shifts bring only a small premium. Typically from $1-$5 depending on the amount of the shift, larger shifts can bring a little more, but I have never seen one go for more than about $20. Sorry wish I had better news.

Thanks again for the question,
Mike
