Hello, I might have one or more very valuable rare stamps. I'm hoping you can help me figure this out.

Answer
Shellie,

Unfortunately its not possible to determine by a photo whether a stamp is a candidate for Scott 596 because the difference between the rarity and the common issue are measured in fractions of a millimeter.  You would start with a perforation gauge to make sure the stamp is perforated 11 x 11, then measure the design with a fine millimeter gauge.  The rarity measures 19.25mm x 22.5mm.  The common stamp measures 18.5mm to 19.0mm by 22.0mm.
