Question
Geordi is in charge of Engineering, and Worf is in charge of Security.

I think it's safe to assume that Picard could command them to change the way they do business.

Since Riker and Data both outrank Geordi and Worf, could they tell them to completely revamp how they do things?

For example, could Data walk up to Worf, and completely change around the security schedules, etc., or is that beyond what he is able to do?

If Ronan from "Sub Rosa" got into an energy battle with Armus, who would win?

Who would you trust the most?

A) Lore

B) Q (Encounter at Farpoint Q)

C) Nagilum

D) Borg Queen

E) Armus

Answer
Hi John -

Given the military chain of command in Starfleet Worf would be obligated to obey any commands/orders given to him by Riker and/or Data.  He could register a formal protest in the official ship's log and indicate that he was obeying their orders under protest, and could make an appeal to the next highest ranking officer in the chain-of-command, but would be obligated to obey until a higher ranking officer overturned those orders.

Typically (at least in the U.S. military) filing an appeal with a higher ranking officer is not recommended and is looked down upon.  Were Worf to disobey Riker or Geordi's orders, he could be brought up on court martial charges.

Ronan and Armus hmmmmm......If Armus were able to metabolize Ronan's energy then he would win, if not (which I don't think he can) the two would probably struggle for eternity with no clear winner.

Who do I trust the most?  Of the entities you listed I would say Q.
While Q may be mischievous I don't get the impression that he truly wants to hurt anyone.  Sometimes his actions result in bad circumstances wherein harm to others does occur, but I truly don't think he is malevolent like the others you mention.

I think Q genuinely likes Picard and the crew he just sometimes makes poor choices when he is 'playing with his toys' so to speak.

Hope that helps

Deran
