Subject: Crystalline Entity

Question
If Apollo was fully charged, do you think the Crystalline Entity would have any difficulty 'eating' him?

Spock vs. Worf: Spock has a lirpa from the episode "Amok Time," and Worf has a bat'telh.

Mind-melds and nerve pinches are not allowed. Who wins?

If Portal (from the Tkon Empire) fought against Armus, who would win?

If Portal fought against Ronan, who would win?

Answer
Hey John -

Question 1 - It depends on what kind of power source Apollo's temple utilizes.  If it is some type of electro-magnetic power system then the Entity would have no problem 'eating' Apollo.  If not I think the two would be pretty evenly matched until Apollo ran out of energy.

Question 2 - Wow that's a tough question.  My guess is that Spock would win in a contest of that type because, I am under the impression that Worf's martial skills are mostly self taught, whereas Spock learned from his father and other Vulcan masters how to fight with the Lirpa.  I've read most of the Star Trek books and none of them mention who it was that trained Worf in the use of the Bat'leth so I am making an assumption that the majority of his training has been on the holodeck.  Spock worked with actual Vulcan masters which I think would give him a slight advantage.

Question 3 - Against Armus I would think that Portal (with his millennia of experience) could conceive of a way to defeat Armus.

Against Ronan I think the two would end up in a stalemate as both fed on negative energy and were roughly equal in power.

Hope that helps.

Deran
