Question
Do you think Armus would eventually die?

Would Apollo eventually die (regardless of whether his temple was still working)?

Since Apollo's power comes from his temple, and Armus' power apparently is in of himself, does this imply that possibly Armus is more powerful than Apollo?

I agree with you that the T-800 could beat Data in a fight. Why do you think the T-800 would win? Because he is bigger (and therefore possibly stronger) than Data?

At the end of "Where Silence Has Lease" Nagilum creates
'holograms' of Data and Troi. Data asks Picard "What is death?"

Nagilum had already executed Haskell, so didn't that give him an idea of what death was?

And if Picard's explanation of the afterlife was what convinced Nagilum of what death was, why didn't Nagilum simply begin that way, by asking the officers on the bridge what happened at death?

Maybe this confusing behavior shows that Nagilum is not as
'superior' as he'd like to think.

Answer
Hi John -

Yep, I do think Armus would eventually die.  Whether from energy 'starvation', boredom or insanity, I think his life would eventually come to an end when whatever it is that he consumes to sustain himself either ran out, or was no longer able to maintain his tissues.

I would agree that Armus is more powerful than Apollo.  We saw Apollo tire and require time to recuperate, which is a weakness I don't think Armus shares, at least not in the short term like the self styled 'god.'

At that point Nagilum had only run one 'experiment' and, though Haskell expired, Nagilum still didn't understand the implications of such a thing.

Though Nagilum had superior powers and possibly intellect, it was apparent he didn't have any idea of the concept of death or the differing human views towards that subject.

Hope that helps

Deran
