Star Trek: The Next Generation - energy beings

Expert: Deran McKean - 10/16/2009

Question
I asked about energy beings because in the same episode Seven said that "all biological beings eventually perish," or words to that effect.

Since she was a Borg, and has knowledge that 95% of physical species probably don't have, maybe this could be another proof that most energy beings do eventually die.

But since energy beings are not considered biological, then I guess it's moot.

Thanks, anyway.

Answer
Hi John -

Did she say that?  I guess I missed that episode and, according to the 'laws of biology' she's right.

My personal thought would be that energy beings do eventually expire/die/transform/pass on or otherwise trade their level of existence on this space/time plane for something else, but I really don't have any evidence I can bring it to support that.

Hmmmmm, makes one wonder...........

D.-
