Star Trek: The Next Generation - old folks

Question
Well, I found out on Saturday that my 91-year-old grandfather died.

So, in honor of his memory, I'll write these questions about old Star Trek characters.

1) Could Dr. Graves put his consciousness into the following, as he did with Data?

A) Nomad (shields down)
B) Exocomp
C) Lore
D) Borg drone
E) Holo Doc
F) Mudd's androids

2) Could a Douwd eliminate Galactus with a thought?

3) How would old Noonien-Soong ("Brothers") and old Dr. McCoy ("EAF") interact?

4) Would the Organians and Q get along?

Answer
Hi John -

I'm really sorry to hear that, I lost my 99.5 year old grandmother last year.

I think we're fortunate in that we even got to know our grandparents at all, my father's father was 45 years old when my father was born, so he never got to meet any of his grandparents.

My condolences to you and your family.

1)A) Nomad - I think he could, though whether his mind could handle the synthesis of the alien probe and the Nomad consciousness I don't know.  I think he could definitely 'get in there' but might have trouble handling things once he did.

My guess is Data has a highly ordered mind, but then again, if Graves was able to handle the jillions of calculations that go on in Data's mind all the time, maybe Nomad wouldn't be such a challenge?

B) Exocomp - My guess is, that as sophisticated as the Excomp(s) are/is they can't be a complicated as Data's positronic brain and, if Graves were able to take over that, I doubt the Exocomp(s) would give him much problem.

C) Lore - Definitely, in fact, because Lore does have emotions and his brain is thus closer to the human norm, it might be even easier for Graves to take over and control.

D) Borg Drone - I think he could 'get inside' a drone's body so to speak, but my guess is the crush of the Collective consciousness would overwhelm him.

E) Holo Doc - If Graves could get into Data's head, implanting himself into the computer matrix that generates and 'holds' the personality of the Holo Doc shouldn't be a problem at all.

F) Mudd's Androids - I think he could, their technology, no matter how advanced, would be less sophisticated than Data's.

2) Douwd - I think so, any being that can wipe out a specifically targeted race across sectors of space so completely should be able to wipe out Galactus.

3) Those two would argue incessantly about genetic theory, applied cybernetics and anything and everything else.  I don't think Soong was particularly argumentative, but Bones considered confrontation a sure sign of his affection towards someone (like Kirk and Spock), and he even chastised Data for being too much like a Vulcan!  My guess is that Bones would admire Soong and would thus find some reason to engage in a spirited discussion with him.

4) I doubt the Organians and Q would get along.  Q is all about 'stirring the pot' causing trouble and throwing characters into uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situations as learning experiences, whereas the Organians seemed much more evasive and introspective, wanting to just be left alone.

Try and have a great day!

Deran
