Question Was Spock or Odo ever shown opening stuck turbolift doors? I know they obviously couldn't do it as easily as Data, but do you think they could do it? Also, what other species could do it?
Picard defended the Crystalline Entity's right to live. Do you think any TOS, TNG, or DS9 characters would think the opposite?
If Data were sitting atop the Crystalline Entity, and it went into warp, what would happen to Data? (Could he hang on?)
If Nomad were flying through space, and Q appeared out of nowhere in front of him, playing a trumpet, how would Nomad react?
Answer Hi John -
Off the top of my head I don't recall either of them opening turbolift doors though I'm sure they could. Odo once was shown halting the progression of a falling elevator inside the station by morphing his arms into a type of brace, so he's gotta be plenty strong.
We saw Khan easily open up the door to the quarters where he was confined in the episode "Space Seed" and we know the Cardassians are strong enough to lift up an average sized man without too much effort so I'd bet a strong member of that species could open turbolift doors.
My guess is that a Klingon, Taurean, the Rock alien, Mr. Homm, maybe Roga Danar, Roger Korby android, Gorn, Orion male, maybe a Reptillian Xindi, maybe a Nausican, definitely Admiral Quinn with the Bluegill Parasite inside him, maybe a Chalnoth could all do the same thing.
Worf might argue with the Entity's right to live. In the episode "The Enemy" he was willing to sit back and allow another sentient being to die, in this case a Romulan, so, he obviously has a different perspective on the sanctity of sentient life than Picard does. Worf also didn't seem opposed to using the methods Data suggested which involved inserting a rogue program containing an impossible geometric shape into the Borg Collective that would have shut them down and/or killed a number of drones.
Odo also seemed to favor using extreme methods when dealing with extreme situations and I think he might argue with Picard as would Major Kira given her background living under Cardassian occupation.
It depends on how exactly the Entity achieves warp speed. If it creates a stable bubble of subspace around itself (like the Enterprise does) then Data should go to warp along with it.
I think Nomad would be shocked but gotta believe the probe has some innate sense of self preservation that would prevent it from outright engaging in hostilities with something as powerful as Q.
