Question
Alexandra:

Thanks very much for your previous note of August 24, 2007. It was nice to be reassured that I was not the only one to feel sadness while watching Darth Sidious sent out Order 66. I suppose that is the beauty of science fiction; power and technology are fine, but they must be exerised with a high degree of responsibility. Look at the writings of Robert Louis Stevenson and H.G. Wells. They do a wonderful in descrbing the moral peril of science (e.g, Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hide and War of the Worlds).

One of the interesting social dynammics of Jedi life is he )or she) is not allowed to have a spouse. Jedi rules prohibit it from what I understand. This obiously created some tension for both Anakin and Pademe. It would have been intersting to ascertain how Luke Skywalker would handle this Jedi rule. At the end of Episode 6, Luke now has the enormous responsiblity to put together the Jedi order. I cannot help but wonder if he would continue with this tradition or amend it to fit more the times he faces.

Again, Alexandra, thanks for your previous response. I am enjoying very much recieving your feedback.

Sincerely,

Gabe

Answer
It was indeed had for Anakin and Padme during the time of their marriage. Because it had to be hidden this led to the inevitable action of Anakin turning to the dark side. As for Luke and the Jedi rule against marriage. If you continue to read books that take place after Episode 6 you will see that Luke continues the Jedi by making a Jedi Academy........but he also changes the rulse of the order omitting the one forbiding marriage. If you don't plan on reading these I can give you the basic outline of what happened to everyone after episode 6 (Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewy etc.) But if you do I will give nothing away. I look forward to your reply and thanks for continuing to come to me :)

Alexandra
