AboutGreg Bonkowski Expertise I can answer pretty much anything when it comes to the Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Knights, the history of the Jedi Knights, and other characters and incidents throughout the Star Wars saga. I am also interested in the technical aspects of the Star Wars saga. I like to think of myself as both a historian and an archeologist of the time period that took place in a galaxy far, far away.
Experience I have been a Star Wars fan since the time my father took me to see the first movie when it was released in 1977. I have read practically every book that I can get my hands on, and I keep up to date with production of and the stories behind all five films(six if you count the next one to be released.) I am pretty much interested in the mythos surrounding Star Wars, and the history of the Jedi Knights.

Question Hello. I have never, ever seen a Star Wars movie and my husband has only seen one or two of the originals. We have two boys and our older one (8) seems very interested in Star Wars and I think he would really enjoy the movies. I would like this answer to come from someone who has seen ALL the movies, including the prequels and I am assuming you have. Should our son watch the original movies first or should he watch the movies chronologically, as the events happened, which would mean watching the prequels first? And, whatever opinion you have (watch them as they were released or watch them prequels first) could you give me the movies in order by name as you think he should watch them because I'm not positive which ones are which! THANKS!!!
Answer Dear Molly,
First of all, I would like to thank you for allowing me to answer this question. Personally, I would watch the prequels first, than go on to the original ones. The prequals provide the answers to some of the questions they might have if they see the original movies first. Make a day out of it just like my brother and my father. Every Christmas, they get together and watch all 11 hours of the "Godfather" movies in chronologically order.
I hope that I have answered this question for you. If you have anymore, please feel free to ask.
