To some extent yes. It is considered a classic. It is in the 100 best films of all time according to TIME magazine, as well as in almost any list of the best films of all time (IMDB, films101, etc.). It was nominated for 11 aademy awards and won 7 of them. It is also regarded as a breakthrough in special effects design and as a highly innovative film in technical departments and it started the Blockbuster age in Hollywood.
