About William Dodson
Expertise
Can answer most questions on any subject in the Star Wars galaxy, but specialize in questions about yuuzhan vong, corran horn, ganner rhysode, and Emperor Palpatine. My weak area though, I would have to say is The Phantom Menace, I can answer most of those questions, but not all.

Experience
I became a big Star Wars fan just a few weeks before The Phantom Menace came out on video, and started collecting all Star Wars books I could find, no matter whether it was set before or after The Phantom Menace. I now own over 100 Star Wars books plus a decent amount of other Star Wars memorabilia.

Question
Hi my name is gerardo and I have a couple of questions:
1. If jedis are so powerful that can read the mind of others and can feel the feelings, how is it possible that they could not feel that the clons were going to attack them (I am not saying that days or years before but some seconds before the attack, I can not believe that just yoda did it!!!)

2. I think there is a big contradiction in the history: Anakim supposed to be the one, the one that would equal the force (and that will destroy the dark side), but all the siths supossed to be extermined over 1000 years ago!!!! How is it possible that he is the one when they thougth that there was not more siths in the galaxy?

thank you very much

Answer
Hello Gerardo.  Hope you had a nice Memorial Day.  Here's the answers.  They're pretty long, but it's to explain the answers instead of just telling you and giving no reason for them.

1. Q:  If jedis are so powerful that can read the mind of others and can feel the feelings, how is it possible that they could not feel that the clons were going to attack them (I am not saying that days or years before but some seconds before the attack, I can not believe that just yoda did it!)

1. A:  Yeah, I understand how you would get that question.  It's a good question too, but there is an answer.  It would make you wonder why they all couldn't sense it instead of just Yoda, but the book clears up the reason for that.  In the novelization of Revenge of The Sith, it explains that since the clones were bred to follow orders strictly with no questions asked, they had no remorse for what they were doing.  They had no feelings toward anything they were doing whatsoever because they were following their orders which is what they had been bred and trained to do.  They would go through with anything they were asked, no matter how kind or brutal; they didn't care because they were brought up not to.  Jedi pick up on the feelings of others when they sense something about them, and with the clones they picked up on their desire to follow orders.  Since killing the Jedi was an order (an order that they had been trained for ever since being 'born/hatched' back at the clone hive on Kamino) and since the Clones had no feeling towards it whatsoever, the Jedi could not sense it.  All they could sense was that the clones were following orders, so when they turned on the Jedi and took them all out, none of the Jedi knew what they were doing.  The reason Yoda could tell was because he felt all of the other Jedi dying.  He had such a strong connection to the Force that he could feel the deaths of the others much like Obi-Wan felt the deaths of everyone on Alderaan in "A New Hope".   The others couldn't feel it because of a combination of being in the middle of battle, which took their attention away from it and also because they just didn't have as strong a connection with the Force as Yoda did.  So, Yoda didn't necessarily sense that the clones were going to take him out, but he did sense them coming up behind him and figured out that all of the Jedi must have died by clone attacks, so he was able to take them out before they kill him.

2. Q:  I think there is a big contradiction in the history: Anakim supposed to be the one, the one that would equal the force (and that will destroy the dark side), but all the siths supossed to be extermined over 1000 years ago! How is it possible that he is the one when they thougth that there was not more siths in the galaxy??

2. A: There's close to being a contradiction, or even several contradictions, but not quite.  The Sith had once been a huge organization of Dark Side users who all were against the Jedi.  The Sith attacked the Jedi and the Republic numerous times with their huge armies, but were defeated in extremely close wars each time.  This reduced their numbers a lot and made them hate the Jedi even more, but it didn't completely exterminate them.  Then, years later they started fighting amongst themselves and almost completely wiped out the whole Sith Order.  All that remained was one, but he did remain.  He realized that the Sith Order could not survive if there were many of them, because the way of the Sith is betrayal and evil so they would wipe each other out.  That's why, he started the practice of there being only two: a master and an apprentice.  So, the Sith weren't actually completely exterminated.  As for the Jedi, they could always sense that there was still the influence of the Dark Side, and knew that the Dark Side was always a threat to return to a great power no matter whether the Sith had been wiped out or not, and they didn't completely understand the prophecy of the Chosen One; but they knew that he was to bring balance to the Force and they could sense that the power of the Dark Side was rising.  They knew that there had to be a reason for this gradual rise of the Darks Side and they knew that the Chosen One would be the one to put an end to it.  Although it didn't happen the way they expected it to, Anakin did prove to be the Chosen One when he took out the Emperor and turned completely from the dark path himself, leaving the Sith Order destroyed.  He finally brought balance to the Force.

That's it.  I know it's long, but I think it should be worth it with how much information it gives.  Okay, if something in here doesn't makes sense or you want me to explain anything more about some of the stuff in this, or if you have any other questions, then let me know.  I'll be happy to help.  Check you later
