Question I'm interested in starting a small-in home consulting business. Should I form a LLC or some type of partnership. Do I need to get a 'business license' from the state/local government? What steps should I take to start this business.
Thanks.
Answer If you have a partner that you are starting this business with, you may want to start it as a partnership. Talk to the other person and decide if that is how you would like to form your business. Look on your states website for information, forms and the cost and benefits of forming a partnership, LLC or any other entity.
You will have to license and register your business with your state. Visit the states website to find out the requirements, forms and what is needed for you to form your company.
