Expert: John A. Troland - 10/26/2009
Question Hi John,
I am small business owner. I have a "LLC with S-Corp election" business in North Carolina. I am getting ready to start my next venture. Can I add my new business as a DBA to my existing LLC? Or should I create a new "LLC with S-Corp election"?
Thanks for your advice.
Tapas
Answer Tapas: YES you can add the new business venture to your existing LLC BUT I would strongly suggest that you do NOT do it!!! Setup that new LLC. Why? From a liability standpoint if both businesses are combined a legal problem/lawsuit for instance is filed against one business it could adversly affect the other business - NOT good!!!
