I am a successful 25 year old, Finance/Economics major, working full-time, but wanting to begin a tax preparation home business. I have researched the business, have an above average knowledge of tax preparation (have done mine and others taxes for years), and actually enjoy the idea of running a tax preparation home business for additional income.
I just moved to Ohio, and have searched all over the internet for what I need as far as state licenses to begin this business. I will not claim to be an accountant or book-keeper, but would like to name the business something with "Financial, LLC" in it.
Would you know what I need to do to get registered with the state of Ohio? Or does this business not require a state license/permit? Have you any success in this type of business?

I would suggest you either contact a local small business accountant in your area or contact your local SCORE/Service Corp of Retired Executives chapter at 800-634-0245 or www.score.org They offer FREE help, assistance and guidance in all areas you would need.
As for success in "this type of business" I have been doing taxes for 44 years, love it and have been VERY successful.
