Starting a Small Business - people escort from airport to destinations of there choice

Expert: Lee Lister - 9/30/2009

Question
i was wandering what i needed to become an escort driver for people from the airport to destinations of their choice

Answer
Hello Kenneth

You need to go onto you State web site to see what licences you will need.  You will also need:

1) A good 4 door vehichle with space for at least 3 people, preferably 4 plus 3-4 suitcases. A trailer might also be necessary.
2) The appropriate driver licence - see your State driver licence authority for informatioan.
3) Liabilty insurance and car insurance - which will be different to normal insurance as you are driving for hire.
4) Tax number - contact your tax authority.
5)Advertising in Yellow Pages and locally.
6)Your airport might also need some qualifications - you need to check with them.  They often have specific waiting systems and rules as to whom can collect from the airport.  Some airports only deal with one company and you will need to sub contract from them.

A quick chat with a local transport driver will help you.

Good luck.
