In 2003 I fled an 11-year career in the Silicon Valley to pursue my entrepreneurial goals. I couldn't be happier with my decision!
I have read dozens of business and marketing books and handled every aspect of launching my store and web business. I wrote a 42-page business plan with a pro-forma, negotiated a lease, made property improvements, acquired inventory, developed a marketing strategy and continue to develop new business strategies daily. Question
Where can I find grant money for starting a business? I have heard that single mothers can get grant money to start their own business and I am ready to start mine. So I would like to know where to apply for grants.

Hi Melinda,

There are some grants available, though most won't fund an entire business start-up. You will probably still be expected to invest some of your own funds. You do have an advantage as a woman and a single mom since there are some extra programs out there. Here are some resources for you:
