Question
i have a 1993 chevy astro van and the ignition switch is stuck in the start position i cant turn the switch off i have to pull a fuse to kill the engin the steering does not lock and you can shift it out of gear without putting your foot on the brake do you think i need a new steering column or can this be repaired  thank you for any help

Answer
it sounds like the lock cylinder has locked up, pretty common problem in late 80's and early 90's gm cars/trucks, just replace that you can get a new one at the local parts store, or gm dealer (recommended) if you need instructions on how to do this, please let me know so I can help you further
