Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I'm a 31m 74" 225lbs
I have been lifting for about 2years now. And need a little advice. I seem to have stalled in my development.
At first it was great my body responded well because I never did anything before.
But now everything seems to have slowed or stopped. My bench  is still far below my bodyweight. I struggle to do a pull up. and my curls are lacking. < can give the numbers if you like >
I do my very best to eat clean meals 5-6 times a day. I do take creatine and protein. But I just cant seem to progress.
I wont say I haven't made progress so far I went from a 43 o a 34 jeans, but  I just don't seem to make it anymore.I'm not looking to lose fat anymore just add size and strength
I'm currently doing the Bill star 5x5 and when I go to the next week it asks you to increase by 2.5% and I struggle to make 4 reps let alone a full clean 5.

So all in all help

ANSWER: Hi Bill, thank you for your question.

QUESTION: http://www.geocities.com/elitemadcow1/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

I have been on this routine now for about  or 6 weeks. before that I was on the M&F 25% stronger program and it basically works off your 5rm and you slowly increase the % of that 5rm you bench until your 5rm is increased.

Right now I have added in some extra movements to the 5x5 < I know messing with the template>
I have added dumbell presses after the bench 3x5
I have also added reverse close grip pull downs and wide grip normal after the rows.
I do a little cardio when done about 15 minutes brisk walking/ jogging
on tues and thurs I do 1 hour aerobics < exercising dvd >
I also do 2 biceps movements each 3x8
and 2 triceps each 3x 8

As for diet I try to eat well , but honestly with everything going on in my life I dont count calories< sorry >

Answer
Hi Michael,
I apologize for the delay in answering your 2nd question-but i was having computer problems.
It sounds as if maybe your 5RM might be a little too much-you may need to lower your weights a little.
How long are you supposed to be on this routine?
It is always a good idea to change routines every 4-6 weeks.
Why don't you lower your 1RM a little and if you are still stuck and not progressing-it may be time to change your routine.
Thanks,
Bonnie
