Question Hello John,
I am really interested in building some mass and staying in chiseled condition. I already an athletic build and in good shape, 6ft, 196 lbs and have good proportions. I used to work out when i was 15-20 but i don't currently work out and haven't in ten years. My only concern is that I have a very high metabolism and can't seem to gain size or build mass by simply eating. I eat about the same as a man 350 lbs eats on a daily basis.(I eat lots of meat, beef, pork, moose, chicken, and lots and lots of fish and seafood, vegetables upon vegetables and about 3-4 liters of milk a day) I think I eat lots of healthy foods and not much junk. Is there anything I can do to eat better to gain mass? Would working out hard help build some of the food I eat rather than letting my metabolism just burn it off? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Jay
Answer Jay,
It sounds like you are eating adequately to build size. I only question your protein intake, however, protein alone is not needed to build muscle mass. So I must turn my attention to your training. If you hit the weights hard and keep the intensity high, you should put up some numbers. If you are able to put up some numbers, then you are getting strong. If your strength increases without size gains, then you can troubleshoot the diet.
Hope this helps.
John
