Question I'm in the Air Force and I am trying to improve my 1.5 mile run time, currently I run 3 miles every other day, and sometimes I do interval training by jogging and sprinting to mix things up. What other things would you suggest to improve my time. Currently I run it in about 13:00 - 13:30
Answer Hey Seth, I would add a little more running to your schedule. Once a week on about the same day add some distance to your regular run...say 1/2 mile per week and work up to 6-8 miles. Try to run 5-6 days a week with 3-4 easy runs at about 70% heart rate max, one longer run at same pace, and one faster run (about 85% HRM) of about 2-3 miles after an easy mile warmup. This should help you along.
