Question
hi. i am 16 years old and weigh 60 kg (not sure how much pounds sorry). i wish to start gaining muscle and i am not sure how to start. iv'e tried gyms and have found myself getting self concious an uncomfortable. i also had no idea what i was doing. i wish to do my work outs at home. i own a weight machine but know nothing about it or weightlifting for that matter. please help me with a few pointers and tips to get started

Answer
Hi Liam.  This isn't the type of help you should be getting through the internet.  This is the type of help where you need to work with some one face to face.  A good trainer or coach in your area will start you out with some basic movements (push up, chin up, bodyweight squat, etc.), but they will also reinforce the proper execution of each movement.

Don't be self conscious about the gym.  Do you think every one in that gym walked in there on their first day and knew exactly what they were doing?  Chances are that some of those people are still doing ridiculous things 5 0r 10 years later.
