Expert: Bonnie Hardie Date: 6/18/2008 Subject: Question- my thighs have exploded :-(
Question Hello, how are you going? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. My name is Christina and I live in Australia. I have always been very skinny all my life, without having to exercise or watch what I eat. Now, I just turned 38, and all of a sudden , like in just a month or two it seems, my thighs have collapsed. I don't know what is going on :-( They have gone much wider across ways on both the inside and the outside, and the inside is floppy and the outside is floppy too, and it they have that orange peel cellulite floppy look. I am freaking out! I sit at my computer every night for 4 or 5 hours studying- could that have something to do with it? What should I do to fix it? The weird thing is that the rest of my body is normal and has stayed the same as it always was, just my thighs have totally collapsed and exploded. I feel like my thighs have a conspiracy plot against me! I would very greatly appreciate any advice you may have. Ps- my boyfrined has got depression and so I havent been out much for the last 5 months, I stay at home on weekends now and read, whereas I used to go out on the weekends. Could that have anything to do with it?
Answer Hi Christina,
Thank you for your question.
A lot of women carry more weight in their thighs, unfortunately, there is not much that can be done if you are genetically predisposed to carry more weight in your thighs.
What you can do to reduce the appearance of the "orange peel cellulite floppy look" is to do more lowerbody exercises.
Walking lunges
stationary lunges
squats
leg press
leg extension.
If possible, try to spend a little less time at the computer and at home and try to get to the gym a few times per week.
Thank you,
Bonnie
