Experience
I have been a personal trainer, aerobics instructor, nutrition advisor and boot camp instructor for several years,in South Florida.
I generally prefer to train people outdoors in a park setting. The workout outside is just as tough as a gym workout.I can give people a excellent workout using just their bodyweight.I do a bootcamp style class with groups of 5-10 people.

Strength Training - Exercise after spine fusion

Expert: Bonnie Hardie - 10/22/2009

Question
Six and a half months ago I had spinal fusion from T10-L1, and all discs replaced from L1-L5. I am doing great physically, but am having a problem with my belly. I am not overweight at about 160 pounds and am 6' tall. I would like to find any exercises that could tone and tighten my abdomen area, and possible lose a few inches. Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Berneice,
Some abdominal exercises that you could try are:
crunches
leg lifts
bicycles
scissors kicks
torso twists
side bends.
Obviously, you should be checking with your doctor or physical therapist to see if these exercises are proper for you. They could also give you other exercises that you can do to help to reduce your belly.
Thank You,
Bonnie
