Strength Training/Supplements

Question
I'm 22 and had been active through my high school days playing football as a Center. I am a bit on the fatter side of the scale today and have gotten back into the gym. I remember other guys in school taking supplements during the season and all of them swore they worked.

My question to you is, do supplements work and which ones are well known to work. My main goal is strength gains and fat loss. I'm not wanting to compete for Mr.Olympia or anything, just want to get a good clean, cut, physique.

Any suggestions and advice is always welcomed and considered.

Answer
The truth is that most supplements dont' work or are overhyped.  The most important thing you can do is to eat a well balanced diet of lean proteins, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy fats.  You also need to figure out how many calories your body needs.

I would suggest you go to www.freedieting.com  and calculate your calories.

After you figure that out, go to www.scribd.com and do a search for that specific calorie meal plan.  For example if it said for you to eat 2,000 calories then enter 2,000 calorie meal plan on the top right corner of the page.

If you can't find your specific meal plan, for example if you need to eat 3,000 calories, just search for the 1500 calorie meal plan and double everything.

I did a video on supplements I suggest on my youtube page www.youtube.com/fitnessexpert

I also recommend you check out this book and my review of it.  It comes with a unbiased supplement review.  The website is www.BodybuildingRevealed.BlogSpot.com

Hope that helps.
