About John Izzo
Expertise
I can help answer any questions related to muscle development, muscle activation, fat loss, core strength, balance, spinal stability, warm-up, and proper exercise progression and execution. Most answers can be found on my website: www.standAPARTfitness.com Please do not ask for a specific workout plan. In this field, I need to SEE you and evaluate your current physical capabilities. Answering such questions without assessing your needs and goals through a consultation would be irresponsible of me. Please be clear and concise in your questions. The more info you can give me, the more specific info I can provide.

Question
I am 24 years old, my height is 5'3 and I weigh 114 lbs. I have always had quite big arms for a girl and have been going to the gym to tone up but my arms are the only part of my body that has not changed so much. My arms are actually quite muscular and I have been told liposuction would make little difference to their size. However, they are out of propertion to the rest of my body. I would like to know what I can do at the gym to make my arms slim and toned but not so bulky? I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and do 45 mins of cardio and some very light weight-training (2-3lbs handweights) for my arms. Shall I stay away from doing any weights?

Answer
Suzy, Take a break from weight training and take up Pilates. My guess is your muscles seem bulky because they may be tight. Pilates will help lengthen your muscles and give them the appearence of slimmness. Make sure you check ouyt my website for more tips: www.standAPARTfitness.com
