Question Hello, I go to gym for 4-5 years.I have improved much but I have reachead a strength plateau.I want to increase my bench press to be more specific. What can I do that will help? weight:83kgs(182.6 lbs) bench 90kg(198 lbs) X 6.I do not use suplements or other stuff. My diet is more of normal people, but more healthy.Just a little more protein. Thanks in advance for your time and effort.
Answer Hey Paul, why don't you try doing 4 sets of 10-12 reps with 2 minutes rest. When you can complete all the sets add some weight and start over. Do this for 4-5 weeks then go to 5 sets of 5 with 4-5 minutes rest between sets. After 4-5 weeks go to 5 sets of 3 with 4-5 minutes rest. after 4-5 weeks try to max and see where you are. You might also add some assistance exercises like inclines, declines, dips, etc. Hope this helps.
