Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I am an 18 year old boy. i am 5ft 5 inches . i want to start working out ... is it advisable to ? if yes then how do i get started? also i need some suggestions on increasing my height.
i would be greatful if you guided me through this ..
thank you.

ANSWER: Hi Shourya-thank you for your question.
It is perfectly fine if you want to start working out now.
There is no way to do anything to increase your height-that is just genetics.
I can help you get started on a work out routine-but I need for you to answer a few questions for me first.
Do you have access to a gym?
Do you have any injuries?
What are your goals?
What is your diet like?
If you could answer these questions for me,I will be glad to help you get started on a work out routine.
    Thanks,
      Bonnie

QUESTION: well, i don't have access to a gym right now.
No i have no inguries.
My goals r normal.... not physical oriented, i just want to look fit thats it.
I have no fixed diet. Sometimes i go to bed empty...sometimes i eat a lot. i often skip breakfast...even lunch is not timed. i eat whenever i feel hungry...and i eat whatever that comes to me..

Answer
Hi Shourya,
Thank you for your info.
Here is what I recommend:
First of all nutrition is very important:skipping breakfast is not good-you need to eat 4-6 times a day.
Eat more protein and carbohydrates.
protein:tuna,turkey,chicken,etc.
carbohydrates:pasta,potatoes,rice,etc.
Eat as  little sodium and fat as possible-drink 8 -8oz glasses of water a day.
As for your workout-since you don't have access to a gym,you can do bodyweight exercises.

Stationary lunges
Walking lunges
Lateral steps
Squats
Crunches
Torso twists
Side bends
push-ups
pull-ups
If you can buy some adjustable weights you can do a lot more exercises:
bicep curls
shoulder press
pec flyes,etc.
For cardio you can do the following:
stair running
run in place,
jumping jacks,etc.
Thanks-let me know if I can be of any more assistance to you,
  bonnie
