Question
Here is one for you My tran make a high pitch whine in 5 gear only when i press the gas take it out of gear it goes away. I do have a leak in the main seal but i dont see how that would make it whine like that. I am planning to drop teh trany and replace the seal what would be making that sound would like to replace it at the same time.

Answer
There are a lot of possibilities, the fact that it goes away when you take it out of gear doesn't mean it is a transmission issue.  More common is a screech from the exhaust under load, when you take the car out of gear you also remove the load.  Sometimes a trans whine is all about the right load and speed.  It is just to hard to answer accurately with out driving it my self, as it is not a common noise you are complaining about.
