Question
I have a 98 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon with 82K.  I'm used to idiot warnings when I leave the lights on, but I don't get any with this car.  Is that normal or is a fuse burned out?

I also was told that I need an oil pan gasket replaced.  I plan to do that soon, but is there anything else they need to check?  I see from some of your answers that leak repair can get overwhelming.

Answer
The oil pan is not common, Is the car being looked at by someone familiar with Subaru?

You can't leave the lights on on a Subaru unless you flip on the parking light rocker switch on the steering column, and no buzzers will go off.

On a Subaru as soon as you shut off the car all of the lights shut off as well.  This prevents a dead battery.
