Subject: How do you check/add transmission fluid for a 2001 Outback

Question
Hi, I just purchased a 2001 Subaru Outback Wagon.  It has an extremely minor transmission leak so I wanted to check the fluid to make sure for right now that everything is ok.  If someone could please get back to me asap, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Noel,

I am trying not to be rude here, but this is what your Owners manual is for.  If you don't have a manual I would suggests buying one yesterday. You can click the link below to read about why.

The fluid needs to be checked hot idling in park and needs to read in between the add and full marks.

The dipstick is on the drivers side.

hope that helps

Justin.
