About Matt Maguire
Expertise
I am new to allexperts, but have plenty of knowledge and experience in the realm of Sublime. Guarantee: you will receive an answer within 2 days of posting the question -- I have no feedback so far and would like to build some. I can answer most questions about the band, the significance of the lyrics, the show dates, the unreleased albums and tracks, misinformation, and, above all, I am an expert on their influences and related music.

Experience
I have been a huge fan for 14 years, I ran a server which distributed Sublime's live and unreleased music 24/7 for 4 years, I have answered questions about the band daily for years on their old website, and I know some of the largest collectors in the world. I created the 5 CD bootleg "Rewind Selector" which documents the influences of Sublime and was the topic of a Spin Magazine interview.

Education/Credentials
I did not study music in college, but I majored in English, so I can write a clear response. I worked as a research assistant in the past, so I have skills in research if I need to figure out an answer.

Past/Present Clients
Sublime fans aren't my clients, but I have distributed swag and rare tracks to all those who want them for years at no cost.

Question
Hi Matt!  I've been a Sublime fan since I was about 12.  I had a cassette tape back then, and at some point I lost it.  I looked up all of Sublimes music, and I'm pretty sure the tape I lost was "Jah Won't Pay the Bills,"  :-(  I want it so bad now, but can't find it anywhere!  I can't even find a place to dl it illegally, lol.  Any suggestions?
Thanks, Rachel

Answer
Rachel --

Jah Won't Pay is easily available on other commercial releases (though the versions were slightly rougher and a tiny bit different, like the filler between New Song and Had a DAT).  If you want the tape, eBay is the place to be, but you'd shell out between $200 and $700, depending on who you're bidding against.  Otherwise, here's the playlist:

Side one

1. Dj's
2. Badfish
3. Lets Go Get Stoned
4. New Song
5. Had A Dat

Side two

6. Dont Push
7. Ball & Chain
8. Slow Ride
9. Date Rape
10. Live At E's

Are you sure it wasn't 40oz extended tape (did it have more songs?)?  Do you remember the color of the color?

Anyway, if you're feeling sentimental, I have the audio.  Just get in touch.

Matt
