Expert: Andy Date: 3/15/2008 Subject: Why did they stop publishing Crazy Fool
Question Why did they stop publishing Crazy Fool??? If this book is so wanted and so popular and so many fans are dying for it what the hell was the point of making so few???? i mean i dont think its about the money but i do think it should be about the fans this is rediculous we deserve to get our own copies and be able to read about brad and learn more about it him and not have to spend hundreds of dollars to do it....and im one not to just download it on the computer and read it i want my own copy to be able to read. i mean unless im way off and missed something i just feel kinda cheated.... can you offer any info??
Answer It sucks jake,,but they sure the hell did stop making the Crazy Fool book.I was one of the lucky ones back in 2003-2004 to pick it up.I was just at tower records and happend to see it..later that day i got my guitar world and it had the breakdown of the book in thier..if i'd of known they'd go out of print so fast i'd of bought 10 of them!
Here's the major problem..there are so few "hardcore" sublime fans in the big picture that keeping it on the self would lose the publisher millons of dollars worldwide to re-print.
Since the bands catalog of music is almost all out there and no new sublime stuff or rarities is due to be released the demand for sublime is not to great at all.Supply and demand...and that's ultimatly what is comes down to..that and time..1996 is a long time ago..even for me..who saw sublime and was 17 years old when he passed..it's just that most folks have all but forgotton about the band or could care less to learn more..they like what i got,santeria,wrong way,and summertime..and they know the lead singer died...and that's about that..you know?
The whole ebay thing is pretty nuts..i'm not sure if id pay that amount either to get a copy..though if it was about 200 bucks i'd probally would for sure.
The book itself is a great read..for sublime fans of course.It has tons of pictures and more or less just interviews those around him..and goes pretty far into detail as far as i'm concerned.I read the book in about 2 hours start to finish..then just kinda tucked it away..never knowing that it would go outta print.
You could try ebay or other publishing wholesale websites to see if any are around..or the tried and true yahoo or google search...but i'm not to sure if you've already got that cvovered..i do wish you luck on gettin your on copy..and yes'''i'd feel cheated to,.,.take care...,andy=}
