Question
hey im wanting to know what equipment did bud gaugh use on
self titled album/Robbin The Hood. cause im listening to
Caress Me Down and cisco kid. Basically my question is im
wanting to know is how he got like the weird almost slow
motion Crash cymbal sound and the like "Big Bang" Snare.

Answer
On that album they head used a Roland S-50 sampler...and tracked it with a tascam 246- 4 track player.To try and recreate that sound the best thing to do would be check out your local music shop or guitar center and see if they've got anything like that in the drum room..that you could bolt onto your kit..or you could go all digital on the drums to..roland makes a kick ass digital drum set..you have to by a amp for it..but the sounds you can create out of it are awesome..you can cover and sound or stlye of music..cons are it's digital...and expensive..almost 2 grand for the top of the line.

Buds set up wasn't all digital at all..he had 2-3 digital pads over bt the timbales on the same side as the snare he used live in concert..and it sounded really good.

The big bam snare sound was either recreated through the sampler or his kit..i will have to dig around a little more and find out.,thanks for writting and and keeping sublimes music alive.,take care..,andy=}
