Sublime/Holds Sublime

Matt, do you know who arrange Sublime set shows ?
Who was the Holds ?

I always thought that Brad,Bud and Eric would never arrange the amps,drums,footswitchs... I've been wrong before, but..rsrs

Keep the good work man

Carlos Alexandre Lehmann Ferrão,

There was obviously more to the team than the three-piece harm of Brad, Bud, and Eric. Songs hold some of your answer:

"...send Matt Vargas to regrip..." is a lyric from STP. The title of "Best Boy Grip" might be something you see in movie credits, but Sublime had them too.

A Best Boy Grip is "responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lighting or grip department. Their many responsibilities include the hiring, scheduling, and management of crew; the renting, ordering, inventory, and returning of equipment; workplace safety and maintaining discipline within their department; completing timecards and other paperwork; stocking of expendables; loading and unloading production trucks; planning and implementing the lighting or rigging of locations and/or sound stages; coordinating with rigging crews..."

So I imagine that other than Matt Vargas, others on the road with them had involvement. Perhaps Kelly Vargas (the replacement drummer when Bud was in rehab), Miguel, and other more minor players would help out.

Of course, their guitar tech was Dan MacDonald, who not only designed Brad's "brown guitar", but handled much of the guitars and equipment.

Hope that answers your question, but I'm not sure what you meant exactly by "the Holds"...

Guarantee: you will receive an answer within 2 days of posting the question -- whether it is a referral to a different expert or a straight answer to your question. I can answer most questions about the band, the significance of the lyrics, the show dates, the unreleased albums and tracks, misinformation, and, above all, I am an expert on their influences and related music. Additionally, if you're looking for that hard to find track or a cheap alternative to the $300 book Crazy Fool: Portrait of a Punk, I might be able to help.

I have been a huge fan for 16 years, I ran a server which distributed Sublime's live and unreleased music 24/7 for 4 years, I have answered questions about the band daily for a decade on their old website, and I know some of the largest collectors in the world. I created the 5 CD bootleg "Rewind Selector" which documents the influences of Sublime and was the topic of a Spin Magazine interview.

I did not study music in college, but I majored in English, so I can write a clear response. I worked as a research assistant in the past, so I have skills in research if I need to figure out an answer.

Past/Present Clients
Sublime fans aren't my clients, but I have distributed swag and rare tracks to all those who want them for years at little cost.
