About Matt Maguire
Expertise
I am new to allexperts, but have plenty of knowledge and experience in the realm of Sublime. Guarantee: you will receive an answer within 2 days of posting the question -- I have no feedback so far and would like to build some. I can answer most questions about the band, the significance of the lyrics, the show dates, the unreleased albums and tracks, misinformation, and, above all, I am an expert on their influences and related music.

Experience
I have been a huge fan for 14 years, I ran a server which distributed Sublime's live and unreleased music 24/7 for 4 years, I have answered questions about the band daily for years on their old website, and I know some of the largest collectors in the world. I created the 5 CD bootleg "Rewind Selector" which documents the influences of Sublime and was the topic of a Spin Magazine interview.

Education/Credentials
I did not study music in college, but I majored in English, so I can write a clear response. I worked as a research assistant in the past, so I have skills in research if I need to figure out an answer.

Past/Present Clients
Sublime fans aren't my clients, but I have distributed swag and rare tracks to all those who want them for years at no cost.

Question
I have read in previous posts about the archived sublimearchive.com site.  Great stuff!  I have a pretty good collection of sublime bootlegs from there and other places, but there a number of very rare albums I am missing like ocean mist, fiji islander, 13 fluid ounces, kommotion and some more (I am also missing and would like to get the rewind selector compilation you created) if you have any information on where I could obtain these albums it would be much appreciated. Thanks for all the information you have provided on this great band.

Answer
Steve --

For a little self-promo, Rewind Selector was just rereleased!  100 tracks of music!  8 years in the making!  With the help of another Expert from this site,  Vince, this massive project was completed and we have a FORTY PAGE text supplement and artwork with the free e-CD.  There's a little blurb about the album and Sublime's influences straight from HSC, the author of Crazy Fool: Portrait of a Punk.  This really is something a collector should listen to and read.  Check it out on its download site:

Now on to your others questions:
13 Fluid Ounces is an EP, not a bootleg.  It's available in original form in a cardboard sleeve.  It does not have material you're missing, but it's a short tracklist.  You can find that on eBay from time to time.

Ocean Mist (good quality), Fiji Islander (horrible quality...from VHS), and Kommotion are around.  Kommotion is almost 100% soundboard now.  Stand By Your Van is from the Kommotion show, reordered.  Some more tracks came out on newer studio albums, including EUTS.  Rather than telling you to hit eBay or my buddy who has all the collectibles (it's an option: www.myspace.com/gman) you should talk to the great fans at www.skunk.com on the Sublime chat.  Often they'll send you a show over aim, post it, or at the very least send you a burned CD for the cost of shipping only.

Any more questions, shoot them my way.  And please get Rewind Selector and give some feedback!

Matt
