Question
QUESTION: What can you tell me about brads and recordings I already dont know? What about his tattoos. Especially about his guitars and amp.

ANSWER: For the recording part check out wikipedia and enter sublime into the search,,at the bottom look for discography.That will get you all the albums bootlegs and such you could want..to much to list here.

His tattoos..well he had 5.His sons name on his collarbone,a wave sequence with ocean waste(a cover up for a fish skeleton+ track marks)on his left arm,,on the right forearm area he had a 40 oz to freedom design,His 1st tatoo on his left calf area was a kanji dragon,,,and of course the name sublime on his back in old-english..

Guitars he played and ibanez s-470 in his early days..a custom s-470 i should mention.later his guitar tech dan macdonald made him a custom guitar which he played from 1994-1995 till his death(it's the brown one).

Early on amp wise he played a marshall jcm-800 combo amp for his dirty and a roland jc-120 for his clean..he used a whirlwind A/B switch box to changed channels.Around 1994 he switched to mesa boogie..he played a triple rectifier..one of the best amps you can buy for both killer clean and distortion.

Hope this helps peter..drop me another line if you need more specific on a certain question,take care,.,.,andy=}

QUESTION: Can you tell me about his lyrics. His style of Singing? (does it relate to anyone. How do I do it?)

I understand that Bradley read a lot, can you tell me what books he read?

Answer
His style of singing was unique unto itself.He added alot of inflection into his lyrics to say the least.It was part reggae,part ska,punk and dancehall...even some rap on his earlier recordings.He took cues from bob marley,the ziggens,curtis mayfield,peter tosh,and dancehall reggae fromt the 60's and on.

Book wise i can't name on to be honest..he was a scholar..only a semester away from graduating from cal state long beach w/ a degree in finance.He was big on history and music especially.

Peter to sing like him...well 1st you need a good voice..if that's covered then pick your favorite song or one you cover well and try to sing with him while a recording is playing.The less you hear of yourself the better your covering the tune.The move on to harder songs.Try listening to older reggae and dancehall for inspiration and melody,take care buddy.././.andy=}
