ANSWER: Heina is a slang word for girlfriend. Sancho is the person in the story who was supposed to have stolen away his girl.The song originated from robbin the hood as it was an instrumental track entitled "lincoln highway dub".Later brad wrote santeria,,it started as a message of hope for his newborn song as he struggled to get clean from heroin.It was meant for jakob,a case in point story how his dad overcame.When it was finally recorded it became much more of a story,but you can still here little tid-bids of the orginal theme in there.hope this helps,take care and be well,.,.,andy=}

QUESTION: what was Brad trying to say in this song?
Answer The song was a story as i mentioned before..it's kinda self explanatory.When it started out he was writing a song to his unborn son of his struggles to get clean,how he was going to get clean and make it through the dark times.lyrics like "I'll make it..oh yes i'm coming up" and "my soul will have to wait" echo that message.
"what i really want to know..mt baby..what i really want to say is that i've got mine..and i'm coming up(gettting sober),this also helps to undestand the meaning of the song.
In the end he didn't make it..a relapse one week after his wedding ended his life,he was 28 years old.He left behind his wife,11 month old son Jakob, his sister,mom,step mom,dad,and a slew of close friends,relatives..and laslty millons of fans.
