Question Hey guys I have always been in love with Sublime, Brads voice was so chill and amazing. I have one question that bothers me everyday. Everytime I listen to my favorite song EVER, "Waiting for my ruca," I just dont understand it. I know ruca and heina mean girlfriend but derogatory kinda whoreish/hoeish but I need to know what Brad meant with these lyrics! Please help!
Answer The song is confusing in the sense that it hints around a girl he likes but can't have to his own.You can tell ramona is a girl he likes but can't have as his own(your not the only one but your the best bradley).
In a sense he's waiting for a chance to be with the girl he likes..even though it will only be sex..not a relationship.
The heina part of this it seems that he does have a girlfriend..and a ruca is a 'creeper"..by the nature of the song he is either wants this girl to be his or he's trying to get some tail even though he's got a girlfriend.
After 10 plus years of listening to his music this song still makes me scratch my head when i think bout what he really meant!
