About Lynne Luckett
Expertise
I can answer questions about surviving suicide, about losing a family member to suicide and how to heal the hole that is left behind by a loved one committing suicide.

Experience
My father committed suicide when I was 8 years old. It took me 13 years to even start dealing with his death but once the healing started it was truly an educational experience. I know now that he is with me all the time and though his physical self is no longer here, his spirtual self lives on in me and my son. I'm now 49 and have talked to several people about losing a loved one to suicide and have received some positive feedback about my advice. I am a medical transcripitionist and have been in the medical field for 20+ years. I feel I survived my dad's death to have the understanding to be able to help others. I love to help others.

Question
hi I'm Rachael Elliott I'm 13 and in the seventh grade i have constant thoughts of killing myself i have cut my wrist 9 times in a row i have gone to circles of care but it made no differences what should i do??

Answer
Hi Rachael!

Have you gone to a counselor at school or do you have a minister you can talk to or a favorite teacher?  I know you may think your parents don't care but have you tried to talk to them?  Think of someone you are close to that could give you some advice.

I am not a trained professional and it sounds like that's what you need whether it's a teacher, counselor or minister.  They are trained to deal with persons such as yourself who are in pain and wanting to do harm to themselves.

I CAN tell you that you are so special to God.  He created you and He has such plans for you.  When you are in the depths of sorrow and thinking of harming yourself, talk to God, ask Him into your heart and to take away your pain.  Then listen to His still quiet voice as he tells you "You are so special to me.  I need you to fulfill a plan I have".  His plan may not be evident to you right away but let Him help you learn to be patient and how precious ALL of His children are to Him.  Once you are walking in His light you will know that He has a purpose for you and it's waaay too soon for you to leave this life.

I hope this has helped even a little.

And remember, God loves you and so do I.

Sincerely,

Lynne
