About Aleah
Expertise
I can answer questions about how to tell if someone may be suicidal, how to help a friend with suicidal intentions, and how to find help for someone who may be thinking of suicide. I can even help you deal with your own emotions and help you control any suicidal feelings. I cannot, however, substitute for an emergency hotline: if you're about to commit suicide, PLEASE call a hotline!

Experience
I've been there. I've had first hand, real-life experiences dealing with suicidal friends - and talked them out of it. I have even had suicidal intentions of my own and managed to overcome.

Education/Credentials
I am currently studying psychology and education.

Subject: Best way to die

Question
Hi there, lately all I think about is death and dying, and I can't seem to stop. My parents are even sick of it, but they think I am joking.
I was wondering what is the least painful way to die, I want to die quietly, and quickly, so no one notices. Thanks

Answer
Monica,

I cannot encourage or help you to die.

You need to get help. Although it may feel like it at the moment, suicide is not an answer. It's a temporary solution to some little problems you might be having in your life. But think about everyone and everything you're going to miss in life. How old are you? What haven't you had a chance to do yet? How much of your life is yet to unfold.

The future is a mystery. You don't know if it's going to be as bad as it is right now. Hang in there, please. The reason your parents are sick of it is because they don't want you to do this.

You need help. Try visiting sites such as DailyStrength.org or LiveJournal.com that have forums for suicide prevention and encouragement to stay strong. You could call a suicide hotline. They will listen to you and help sort out your problems right now.

Good luck. PLEASE don't commit, it's not worth it, trust me. There's so much to life you have yet to experience.
-Aleah
