About Justin Gerstein Expertise I have been studying the Court for some time. I consider myself to be a liberal; so my opinions of the Court seem to allign themselves with the liberals on the Court. I have studied in-depthly the Warren, Berger and current court.
Experience I have read much on the Court and its history. I have read recent trends and issues that the Court has delt with and will deal with. THe history of the Justices is one area where I have read much. I consider myself to be a liberal and I enjoy reading the various cases that the Court released. I read US Suprmem Court cases the most.
Question I am researching cases regarding housing discrimination for my undergraduate course called “Protecting Civil Liberties.” I am responsible for briefing the case Barrows v. Jackson, 346 U.S. 249 (1953) in class next week. I have read through the case and I would like to understand the merits and reasoning better. I have found it difficult to find additional information regarding this case. I have been searching the Internet to no avail. I either find the brief as a whole (FindLaw.com) or cursory summaries of the case. This has become increasingly frustrating.
My question is whether there are other resources available, besides the case itself, to help flesh out the various cases for me. Are there supplemental sources regarding housing desegregation on the Internet? Also are there sites where I can find full-Federal District Court opinion? Any pertinent information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Adam
Answer HI Adam,
Findlaw is the best source that I can recomend.
In the Law Libraries you find most opinions from the District Courts.
Look at teh State of California's Supreme Court and Appeals Court from some more information.
I wish I could help you more, but that is where I would start.
