Question I'm a Medical Student at the University of Glasgow and a keen surfer. I have to spend my Summer this year doing a four week placement in a hospital, which can be anywhere in the world. Spent the summer surfing in Morocco, which was amazing, but here comes the problem. I could really do with the main language being English, as talking to patients may prove rather hard otherwise. My question is, which countries could you recommend to me that have good summer surf and are majority English speaking?
Many thanks,
Lyle
Answer West Coast USA (getting a visa is a pain but might be okay for you), Australia and New Zealand spring to mind - good surf all the time and you can surf town beaches in the major cities so you'd get the best water time too. Maybe South Africa too. I haven't done any travelling in any English-speaking countries other than Oz I'm afraid, but I'd heartily recommend the place, and they have a good health service too. Stormrider or similar could tell you more if you wanted to find somewhere really different and exotic.
