Experience I've been a professional mechanic for over thirty five years, live in the center of the Rocky Mountains, and have been active in exploring the old mining/4wd roads for decades. I've specific experience with Samurai modification, because that's my personal vehicle.

I'm now a professional heavy duty fleet mechanic, and no longer deal with issues such as MIL (check engine) lights

Question I'm the recent owner of a '93 tracker with 75k on it. i love the car and plan to keep it forever. what maintenance schedule did you follow to keep yours running so long? are there any particular maintenance items i should keep an eye on?
Answer Change the oil every 3k max, or with the change of the season.
Do the rest of maintenance at least as often as the factory reccomends.
Use synthetic lubricants.
Change gear and trans oils evey 50k max (I do it annually)
Use the best parts available, platinum or iridium plugs, etc.
in short over maintain it.
