Question I am replacing my serpentine belt for my power steering and air cond. but I am unable to move my tensioner. What tools do I need and what technique is used to move the tensioner so I can replace my belt
Answer The answer is that it varies depending on manufactuer. You NEED a factory service manual. The aftermarket (chilton, haynes and so forth are mostly useless). Basically you either use a tensioner tool, or after having located the tensioning device, loosen the lock, remove tension, and replace the belt. About half of being a mechanic consists of figuring out how it works before you work on it.
